In
the article “media violence causes aggression” Gina Simmons argues that
television has had a growing rate of violence in its programs and no one seems
to care. The author states that links between television and violence’s on many
children have been shown in many studies. She later on said that sense the
creation of the first television violence has increased dramatically everywhere
in the world. The author accuses news media for not letting out the truth about
violent television. She states that news media doesn’t what the truth out
because it could harm them in many ways. The article lists reason why
television or news media might not let out information on the violence’s. The
author said that newspapers don’t print articles on television violence’s
because it might offended the readers of the newspapers , which in turn affect
the sales they make. Later on, the author, Simmons, starts to focus on how
children and parents could restrict the programs they watch. She explains that
most children spend more time viewing TV or some kind of media instead of
participating in activates at school or in a club. Simmons wants children and parents to get an
education on the subject of television violence and focus more on other kinds
of healthy entertainment. She also goes on about that children should have
about 60 minutes of exercise a day and teens or young adults should have about
30 minutes a day. The author tells the reader that it’s not the children’s
fault for all the violence’s on the television.
The author purpose of writing this article is to inform
and persuade the readers about television violence’s. Gina Simmons work is very
important because it illustrates how deadly television violence can be. This
article provides good amount of scientific studies since the creation of
television and provides good statistics about the effects. The author uses many
persuasive techniques, but the biggest is naming calling. The authors focus all
the blame on news media and all of television for not telling the truth on this
topic. This could make the article unreliable.

The
article “Children pay For Media Violent Tv” provides numerous studies and
information about violence in the media. I believe the work of this article is
important because it explains the threats of violence through studies in
children and though previous research. The research involved in the article had
many trails and different testing. I haven’t seen any signs of biased or
persuasive techniques inside the article. The writer’sfocus of the article is
to let out information on a very important topic and tries to let the reader
have a better understanding on it.The fact that this article has no biased
makes this a very strong article. The article is a little old but it still has
a lot of information.

The
article “Does Cartoon Violence Beget Aggressive Behavior In Real Life” doesn’t
have much information on the effects on violent television but more of
opinionated statements. The authors of this article believe most children are
not able to understand most of the violence’s on television and so they are not
able to do any acts of violence’s. The biased in this article is strong and
there’s not much information to back it up. The article poses questions to the
readers so they know what they are trying to say inside the article.

The
authors of the article “The Effects of Tv action and violence on children
social behavior” did a very good job working together to produce a fact full
article. Authors Huston stein, Aletha
fox, Sandra Greer, Douglas Watkins, and Bruce A Whitaker, gather many studies
from neuromes scientist that tried to discover a link between violent
television and social behavior in children. All the test involved many groups
of children and many types of students to see if TV has an effect. The
information in this article is very accurate because they come from many
authors and different scientist studying the research. There is no signs of
biased information from the authors so I believe the information are true and
there is no persuasive techniques were presented in the article.

“The
Effects of Media Violence on Society” is not like the other articles, it
focuses not only on children but with all age groups. The authors provided
simple information about violence’s on tv that was accurate because they got it
from many sources. Since its all age
groups the authors conducted many experiments with adults, teenagers, and
little children. Some of the trails involved a specific video that all the
groups watched. The information besides the trails was very limited but it
seemed unbiased. I believe the authors could’ve produced some more background
on the topic and some more information on the end results.
